2008 Seasonal Color Displays for the St. Louis Planters at Kiener Plaza Designed by Eight LNAGSL Member Companies

LNAGSL Member Companies Return to Design the 2008 Seasonal Color Displays at Kiener Plaza.

The Landscape and Nursery Association of Greater St. Louis (LNAGSL), celebrating 75 years of service to the Gateway region in 2008, assisted Gateway Greening's downtown St. Louis Urban Roots involvement by designing the seasonal color displays and plant material procurement associated with planting the 16 St. Louis Planters at Kiener Plaza in downtown St. Louis. Eight LNAGSL member companies, located throughout the Gateway region, each designed the seasonal color display for a pair of planters.

Urban Roots is a downtown St. Louis landscape enhancement initiative led by a variety of nonprofit organizations including Downtown St. Louis Partnership, Flora Conservancy of Forest Park, Gateway Greening, Gateway Professional Horticulturist Association, Operation Brightside, St. Louis Master Gardeners and St. Louis Parks, Recreation and Forestry.

Gateway Greening is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to community development through community gardens, community greening projects and educational programs since 1984. Gateway Greening's participation in the Urban Roots landscape enhancement initiative includes the planting and management of seasonal color gardens at Kiener Plaza and the Market Street and Tucker Boulevard landscape medians. This participation involves a strong working association with the Gateway Professional Horticulturist Association, Horstmann Brothers Landscape Services, Landscape and Nursery Association of Greater St. Louis, St. Louis Community College at Meramec Horticulture, St. Louis Master Gardeners, in cooperation with St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry and St. Louis Department of Streets.
