Additional Information
History and Overview
The Gateway Professional Horticulturist Association began with a group of golf course horticulturists who began meeting on a regular basis to exchange ideas and share their knowledge and experiences. After several meetings, they encouraged other professionals in the field to join them and the idea of an organization composed of professional horticulturists in all aspects of the green industry evolved. In the spring of 1991 an organizational committee was formed, the organization's name was chosen and officers were elected. Maggie Jackson was chosen president, Dianne O'Connell vice-president, Lynn Miller secretary and Page Barry treasurer.
The organization continues to meet at a variety of locations with a membership comprising over 60 professionals.
